After winning the National Lottery "Celebrating 25 years" Community Fund, our aim is to run two workshops, hopefully providing a foundation for a long term program, aimed at teaching cheerleading to injured and
disabled military veterans and their friends and family. We are principally interested in providing a structured outlet that synchronises well with
the military ethos and adapts to the needs of the individuals who've suffered long term health effects as a result of their service. Team camaraderie, safety, precision and strength, working together to achieve a goal safely and that brings them together.
This project is run primarily by our volunteer Ed. Ed works for the MOD and sees first hand the effects injury has on these men and women and believes the structure provided by cheerleading sport activities would be of great benefit to them.
